I hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Performance Teaching, with Distinction, from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, an LRSM Diploma, ATCL Diploma, Kodaly Centre London Certificate, Level 1, Distinction, and Certificate in Music Studies. I have 15 years experience in teaching and I am also a Steinway Trained Piano Technician, though this work has now given way to my teaching and my family. I enjoy performing and social music making, my other interests include Alexander technique, yoga, coaching, positive psychology, travelling, writing and meeting new people.
I specifically teach a wide range of ages and abilities, to date this has included private lessons for music scholars, trainee teachers, adults, teens and children, sometimes with special needs and group classes for babies and pre-schoolers and class singing programmes in schools. I also mentor and teach on two post graduate courses (GSMD and ESTA Education, Univeristy of Chichester)
I write as a Guest Author for Pianodao, The Way of Piano, I often include freebies in my posts. I encourage you to check out this inspiring and informative website covering all things piano.
I also write as a Guest Author for Tim Topham Teach Piano, Differently. Do visit this site for a wealth of creative teaching solutions and fresh ideas.
I feel very privileged to be in a position to inspire students; nothing beats the joyful look of triumph when a new skill has been achieved. I also feel strongly that the learning processes developed in front of the piano have the power to transform lives. The persistence and self belief required to master a tricky bar is no different to that which makes dreams into reality. It is the development and realisation of these powerful skills which forms the core message of the Music Me Piano Practice Resources.
It gives me great joy to hear how these resources positively impact practice for so many. I would love to hear from you via Facebook or my contact page.
I wish you every success!
